Introduction of Midfielder Morgan Gautrat
Newcastle United Women have agreed a loan deal to sign United States international midfielder and two-time World Cup winner Morgan Gautrat until the end of December with Orlando Pride, who are the current champions of the NWSL.
Gautrat, 32, played 31 matches in the 2024 season, as Orlando took home 60 total points to attain both the NWSL Shield as well as the NWSL Championship.
The versatile midfielder has previously played at Kansas City Current, Chicago Red Stars, and Olympique Lyonnais, where she won the French Division 1 in 2018.
Internationally, Gautrat has represented the USWNT 88 times, and won both the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women\\ Olympics. She also participated in the near miss- Rio Olympics in 2016.
Commenting after transferring, Gautrat said:
I have been welcomed and feel like the team has really taken me under their wing. It has been only excellent things that people have been saying about the fans and the city. It is a stage of my career when I want to be a leader and part of a legacy at Newcastle and make history with the club.
Langley noted Gautrat has a lot of experience as one of the reasons why she was brought on loan to Magpies.
